When I was in grade school, I got yelled at for not knowing the proper way to skim a text to extract the most info. I’m pretty sure the Buggs would have gotten detention, if not expelled, for their incredible lack of good skimming skills. They just sort of zoom in on their favorite keywords and don’t let something like deeper reading get in the way of fun cosplay.

This is the conversation I imagine happening when this sort of thing turns up on my lunchbox:

Mr Bugg: “It says imperial forces …”
Mrs Bugg: “That means someone gets to be Bugg Vader!”
Mr Bugg: “… and Swedes …”
Mrs Bugg: “DIBS ON THE FUZZY BOOTS AND THE HAT WITH HORNS!”
Mr Bugg: “Coolio. Let’s kick this pig.”

houston, we’ve had a problem

Mr and Mrs Bugg look so cheerful, all waving out the porthole like that. I’m guessing the redshirt bugg we can’t see hasn’t stirred the tanks yet.

Malliam … riiiiight

I’m totally sure that’s what they were called, Buggs. I’m sure the period was not at all known by their full first names, separated by “and”. I’m positive they were the first couple whose names were conjuncted to make a shorter, cuter name. Like they were the seventeenth century Brangelina or some shit.

I do like that they’re crowning each other, though. That’s pretty damn sweet.

OK, now the princess getup comes in handy. Well done, Mr Bugg!

Poor Mr Bugg. He really should get some help getting that princess costume off.

Also, is anyone looking at “Buggeslaw” and thinking “cole slaw made with buggs”? No? Just me?

Ok then.

my heart will go on … a plate

Hat tip to Andy Deane for that subject. I’m never, ever going to get over them covering the Celine Dion song. No. Never.

Anyway. Super cute drawing here, and the love on both their faces is just a huge happiness.

night of the comet

Can you imagine how apocalyptic that had to have been, in the ninth century? Although if it had a bow, a big smile & boots in its tail … maybe not?

St Bugg’s

Look, I don’t care what you say, all colleges at Cambridgebugg are St Cedd’s.

I love: the broomstick; the wizarding university thing; the bow on the pointy hat; but most of all, the fact that they’re holding hands. Hand-holding buggs are a big happiness for me.

armless glory

I will always be freaked out by the Buggs’ habit of removing body parts for the sake of re-enactments or cosplay. I mean, seriously.

drink up, happy hour is now enforced by law

Me personally, I would have gone for a nice vintage Champagne, but that’s just because I loathe beer.

I’m happy for the Buggs, though!

where live scantily-clad women, apparently

May I point out that in addition to her coconut bra & grass skirt, Mrs Bugg is still rocking the boots?

Ahhh, the musician cosplay the buggs love so much! Also the return of the tofubeast drummer. Love love love.

Yeah, I’m always gonna like mutts best.

Plus some of the characteristics breeders select for are just fucking nuts. Smushed-in noses & bug eyes are never going to be awesome, guys.

He got his butt kicked hard in Leipzig. I’ve been there! Missed seeing the Völkerschlachtdenkmal, though, alas. Next time!

I like how the ceremony was held at the docks. Like the actual boat needed to be part of it or something.

Seems legit.

real wilde childe

wilde [click to embiggen]

I am a gigantic fan of Oscar Wilde. The Importance of Being Earnest was one of the few plays I’ve read, laughing out loud the entire time. (A Midsummer Night’s Dream is also LOL-worthy.)

Seriously, it’s like half the lines were written for The Dowager Countess — or the Dowager’s snappy conversation was directly inspired by Wilde’s play. HMMM. I sense a re-watch and a re-read in my very near future …

I wonder what the top speed of a bag-laden sprinting bugg is?

Probably Mr Bugg bought the tickets, Mrs Bugg bought the snacks.

I love the way he’s eyeing Mrs Bugg over his shoulder, all “Aww, yeah, baby, I made this.”
