I love all those things

stuff I love [click to embiggen]

Oh, yes. I love the staff weapon and the tactical vest and the cleats and the cowboy-boots-with-spurs and the surveillance van and the ninja and pirate weaponry and the P90. I love that the buggs love what I love!

that is very important indeed

It’s important that one is absolved for knocking over that Piggly Wiggly in Yazoo — whether one was innocent of those charges or not.

I am a huge fan of Oh Brother Bugger Where Art Thou and I approve this message.

And now they’ll be looking for a smithy, or someone otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts.

Good luck, Buggs!

I’ve seen trouble all my days

THE BEARDS, you guys. THE BEARDS.

We shall not even speak of the deadly cute of the overalls, ok?

sixth bugg world

shadowbug [click to embiggen]

So Loki and I have loved Shadowrunbug for lo these many years, and I think this is about when Shadowrun Returns came out? We backed the Kickstarter and everything, and when it finally released we were beside ourselves.

And once again, Mr Bugg just saw “MAGIC” and ran to the Hogwarts closet, while Mrs Bugg read a little further, saw cyberware and bioware and lost her shit completely. She now has nearly zero essence, but gods help you if she doesn’t roll badly during initiative, because you will be dead. Well, probably. Was that crimson schmear you? Bummer.

OK, now the princess getup comes in handy. Well done, Mr Bugg!

execution

Poor Mr Bugg. He really should get some help getting that princess costume off.

Also, is anyone looking at “Buggeslaw” and thinking “cole slaw made with buggs”? No? Just me?

Ok then.

I don’t think he was really trying

cosplay [click to embiggen]

I mean, I wouldn’t blame him if he just wanted to keep on being a pretty pretty princess … more power to him, I say.

And of course, we’ve got the bonus of Mrs Bugg as a Jaffa First Prime. LOVE the thousand-yard stare.

who doesn’t love a good princess party?

princess party [click to embiggen]

I think the Buggs were influenced by that party scene in the beginning of Despicable Me 2. That unicorn dress, you guys. Loki and I nearly peed, we were laughing so hard.

eighteenth century spy vs spy

turn [click to embiggen]

It’s pretty good! When you’re just reading about the American Revolution, it’s easy to forget — because you’re not hearing accents — that most of the people fighting had the same background as the guys on the other side.

this is a bugnex system. I know this.

bugnex [click to embiggen]

Trufax: My first computer was an early *nix flavor. This meant nothing to me at the time, and did not stop me playing Ultima on it.

I love that the Buggs love stuff like this too. I mean, look at their expressions! They’re stoked. As well they should be.

You’ll just have to imagine Wil Wheaton screaming in slow-mo, which, I am certain, is what was playing on repeat in their heads the whole time.

Transcript:

Mr and Mrs Bugg are hanging by their hands from the underside of the top of the rollercoaster loop, their bedrolls dangling, tongues out in concentration and stress, because apparently they don’t realize they can just ask Loki not to launch the rollercoaster car? Whatever, it’s their fantasy / cosplay / re-enactment.

The text reads: “Continuing the “Stand by Me” theme, the buggs are hoping they can make it through the loop before the next train.”

sometimes he doesn’t get the memo

canteen again [click to embiggen]

Or he is deliberately trolling the Star Wars fandom, take your pick.

Transcript:

Mrs Bugg is dolled up in a full-on Chewbacca get-up, including the bandolier and crossbow. You better believe she has not forgotten her bow and boots. Mr Bugg, however? Mr Bugg is rocking the first-gen Star Trek outfit, science officer, to be precise, along with the pointy ears of Mr Spock. He is making the live-long-and-prosper gesture.

The text reads: “Taking some time to eat at the Death Star Canteen. Please ignore Mr Bugg’s outfit.”

vikings

vikings [click to embiggen]

Oh, man, right? It’s a surprisingly good show.

Transcript:

Mr and Mrs Bugg are cosplaying as vikings, to celebrate the second season of the show: Mr Bugg is wearing a horned helmet, and carrying a round shield and short sword, while Mrs Bugg is in full-on shieldmaiden kit of round shield and wicked axe. The bow and boots go without saying.

The text reads: “The Buggs are really enjoying watching Vikings with you.”

cantina [click to embiggen]

I will never, ever get tired of Darth Vader with a juicebox.

Transcript:

Mr Bugg is dressed as Princess Leia, in a white dress and with the earmuff hairdo. Mrs Bugg is Vader, complete with helmet, cape and chest panel. They are both holding trays with a sandwich, and apple, and a straw-pierced juicebox. Naturally, they are holding hands.

The text reads: “More cosplay breaks at the death star cantina.”

sewing

Can you imagine the speed of that thing? It probably took a month to hand-sew that slave Leia costume in the bad old days.

Transcript:

Mr and Mrs Bugg are hunched over sewing machines, surrounded by billows of fabric. Mrs Bugg’s looks like it has pedals, which I feel would have been a big improvement over the treadle, which was a frankly ridiculous way to power a device.

The text reads: “Febuggary 21, 1842: John Greenbugg is granted the patent for the sewing machine. Many new outfits are created for cosplay.”

maybe the new ones aren’t ready yet

standard [click to embiggen]

Plus, it’s fun to revisit the good ones. Plus plus, it’s important to get all the use you can out of your outfits. I mean, look at Loki and I: spent time and money assembling the bits to cosplay as a Stargate team, and we’ve done it twice.

I mean, to spectacular effect both times, but still.

Not the end of the world to replay your favorites, is all I’m saying.

Transcript:

Mr Bugg is a stormtrooper, in the white plastic armor, while Mrs Bugg has, again, claimed the Jaffa outfit. She’s carrying her staff weapon, has sharpie’d the symbol of her god on her forehead and is staring right through you.

The text reads: “Yeah, even after working on outfits, Mrs Bugg insisted on the usual cosplay.”

cosplay [click to embiggen]

I cannot wait to see these outfits!

Transcript:

Mr and Mrs Bugg are concentrating on their cosplay: Mr Bugg is at a sewing machine, miles of fabric around him. His tongue is out in concentration, because one hand is winding the … spinny … thing … on the side of the machine, while his foot depresses the accelerator. Meanwhile, Mrs Bugg stands at an anvil, hammer raised high and preparing to strike something metal. I’d tell her about craft foam, but I think she enjoys smithing.

The text reads: “Hard at work making new outfits.”

Again with the flip phones.

Transcript:

Mr Bugg is holding an abacus, while Mrs Bugg holds, for unexplored reasons, a flip phone.

The text reads: “Febuggary 14, 1924: The Computing-Bugglating-Recording Company changes its name to International Bugness Machines.”
