(Also: I have a soft spot in my heart for Woolworth’s. It was the only place open when my friend Mimi and I got lost driving back to Germany from France on a day the shops weren’t open late. I bought tights because goddammit, I was going to fucking shop and the fact that we arrived too late for the good shops wasn’t going to deter me. That was a really good day.)
