Glad to see Mrs Bugg is winning this time.

Transcript:

Mr and Mrs Bugg are flying towards the finish line in open racecars (with rear wings and antennae). Mrs Bugg is in the lead, while Mr Bugg is grimacing terribly at his second-place finish.

The text reads: “Bugust 19, 1909: First Auto Bugg race at Buggianapolis Motorbugway.

Guess who won?”

You know why Mrs Bugg didn’t win, right? It’s because her motor car lacked antennae. True fact.

Also, in my head, Mr Bugg is screaming “MORE POWER” in Jeremy Clarkson’s voice.

Transcript:

Mr and Mrs Bugg are racing their open motor cars, racing scarves blowing back and goggles keeping their vision clear. Mrs Bugg is leaning forward, a determined expression on her face, but Mr Bugg is well in the lead.

The text reads: “Buggly 23, 1894: The first ever motor car race is completed. The fastest finisher is Comte Jules Albert de Bugg in is 3hp Buggeot.”

The bow tie. The bow tie slays me.

Transcript:

Mr Bugg is wearing a delightful bow tie and waving in triumph as Mrs Bugg pilots a lovely, antennaed open-air automobugg.

The text reads: “Buggly 3, 1886: Karl Buggz officially unveils the Buggz Patent Buggwagen, the first purpose-built Buggmobile.”

speed

Ahh, the heady early days of motoring, when twelve miles per hour was considered reckless and unsafe! Pity about the parade, though.

Transcript :

Mrs Bugg, having parked her bicycle at the curb, now stands next to Mr Bugg’s car, a bow on top her police helmet and a holstered sidearm on her hip. She is writing a ticket for a quite sad-looking Mr Bugg, whose fez is not enough to persuade Mrs Bugg to let him off with a warning.

The text reads: “Maybe 20, 1899: The first traffic ticket is given to Joseph Buggman. He sadly misses the start of the parade after speeding at 12 MPH.”

more tiny cars!

more tiny cars

The minute I saw this one, I texted Loki and demanded to know what tiny cars Oldsmobile had produced, because I’d only ever seen huge, hulking behemoths with that badge. Turns out there is no human analogue to tiny Oldsmobugs. Alas.

Transcript:

A smiling and waiving Mr and Mrs Bugg, again rocking the awesome fez look (Mrs Bugg’s includes her bow, of course), are driving wee tiny antennae’d cars in a parade behind what looks like a buggophant, or at least, the butt of a buggophant.

The text reads: “Aproval 29, 2004: Oldsmobug builds the last of their tiny cars that buggs like to drive in parades.”
