Look, I get it. You don’t want eighty frillion people watching, in case you crash and burn. Best to practice a couple times before you start selling tickets.

That is a credible version of my very most favorite aircraft ever, the triple-tailed, dolphin-shaped, gleaming aluminum Lockheed Constellation. Connies weren’t much used in the airlift, but they did play a role, and one of the proudest moments of my life was accompanying my old company’s Connie to Germany for the 50th anniversary of the airlift, and meeting one of the children in that famous image.

Ahh, memories.

And now it’s Mrs Bugg’s turn to wear the scarf!

Love everything about this, but especially the scarf blowing jauntily in the wind.

That’s pretty brave, if you think about it. “Hey, why don’t I strap myself to this wood-and-fabric contraption, then hurl myself from a cliff?”

Yeah, you do that. I’ll watch.

Sporty goggles and scarves make me grin. Every. Single. Time.

Look, I know this image is iconic and we’ve all seen it probably a thousand times, but I have a horror of both fire and falling and goddammit, this is just butt-clenchingly awful.
